Always have something to look forward to

Daily Journal Prompts - 29 January 2025

This is my favourite happiness hack — to always have something to look forward to.

And it’s backed in science, where various studies have shown that people with an upcoming vacation were happier than non-travellers.

My wife and I make it a point to always have something concrete planned, whether that’s a holiday or meeting friends or a fun date night activity.

We also make it a point to talk about it frequently, as well as have a daily countdown.

There’s something beautiful in watching the days fly past.

Today’s prompts are designed to help you reflect on what makes you happy and how you can incorporate more of it in your life.

Today’s Prompts

Happiness

What are three things you can plan for the next month that will bring you joy?

What’s the next trip, event, or milestone you’re excited about? Why?

How can you create more moments of joy in your everyday life?

Quote of the day

The 'If you don’t have time’ Prompt

What is one thing I’m looking forward to in the next week?

Get the most out of your journalling:

  • Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

  • Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

  • Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.

  • Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.

  • Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.

I’d love your feedback
