Being homebound for 5 days has changed my perspective
Daily Journal Prompts - 4 April 2025
I’ve always told myself that I can’t work from home.
There are too many distractions, too many comforts, and too many reasons to procrastinate.
So, I made sure to work from a co-working space, believing that I needed the structured environment to stay productive.
After injuring my calf, I was forced to stay home for a few days.
No cafes, no co-working spaces, no going into the office.
I had to work from home—whether I liked it or not.
And surprisingly? I got things done. I adapted. I focused. I proved myself wrong.
It made me realise something important: Sometimes, we don’t know what we’re capable of until we’re forced to adapt.
How often have we told ourselves, I can’t do this—only to find out later that we could?
Are we just avoiding discomfort, change, or the effort it takes to adjust? Adaptability isn’t just a skill—it’s a mindset. And sometimes, we don’t tap into it until we have no other choice.
This experience has made me question other self-imposed limitations I might have.
If I was wrong about this, what else might I be wrong about?
What other areas of my life have I been holding myself back simply because I never had to push through?
Today’s Prompts
1 - What is something you’ve convinced yourself you can’t do? Have you ever actually tried?
2 - How would your life be different if you believed you could handle anything?
3 - What role does fear play in how you define your own limits?
Get the most out of your journalling:
Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.
Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.
Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.
I’d love your feedback
