Are you happy?

Daily Journal Prompts - 3 Sep 2024

Are you happy?

What is happiness, really?

Is it a feeling of contentment, a sense of joy, a moment of pleasure, or an absence of unhappiness?

If you ask twenty people that question, you will get twenty different responses, and they will all be right.

Happiness is personal.

So many of us chase someone else’s happiness or what society tells us will make us happy. Don’t fall into that trap.

Only you can define what truly brings you happiness. And sometimes, the journey to understanding it begins with asking the right questions and reflecting on your life.

So here goes today’s prompts …

Today’s Prompts

1 - Self-reflection / Happiness

Reflect on a time when I felt truly happy. What contributed to that feeling?

2 - Happiness

What are the small things in life that bring me joy daily?

3 - Quote of the day

“For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

4 - The 'If you don’t have time’ Prompt

What made you happy today? Describe why in 2 sentences.

Get the most out of your journalling:

  • Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

  • Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

  • Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.

  • Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.

  • Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.

I’d love your feedback
