How you spend your time matters

I am obsessed with time.

Not so much with squeezing every last drop of productivity out of a 24-hour day. That was when I was young and seduced by hustle culture.

As I’ve grown, I’ve realised that’s not what I really want.

Instead, I’m obsessed with freeing up time.

What do I mean by that?

I’m talking about reclaiming my time and creating space for things that matter to me—people I care about, work that I find meaningful, health and wellness, and personal reflection.

That meant leaving a safe and secure job, saying no to meeting some people, and carefully re-assessing how I spend my time.

For me, time is a gift and I would rather focus on how I chose to spend it rather than cramming as much as possible into it.

And that’s what today’s prompts are about - our relationship with time.

Today’s Prompts

1 - Self-reflection / Time

What thought or ideas was dominating your mind five years ago? What is dominating it now and what do you want dominating your mind five years from now? What can you change from your current lifestyle to get you there?

2 - Work-life balance / Time

How can I balance work and personal life more effectively? What are three actions that you can take today?

3 - Quote of the day

“Time is what we want most but what we use worst.” — William Penn

4 - The 'If you don’t have time’ Prompt

What is my most important task today (or tomorrow if you are writing this at night)?

I’d love your feedback
