Finding your peace
Daily Journal Prompts - 13 January 2025
I am writing this at 4:30 am, in the stillness of the early morning.
I had woken up at 4 am, and after tossing and turning for a bit, gave up the pretence of sleep.
I forgot how quiet and peaceful it is at this time. It feels so comforting.
I’m an early riser, usually waking up between 6 - 6:30 am most days.
But, by that time, life is already happening around you.
People are going to work, doors are opening in the apartment building I’m staying in, kids are laughing and joking on their way to school.
But at 4:30 am, it’s just quiet. I feel at peace.
Sometimes, it is worth waking up early just to enjoy that feeling.
Today’s Prompts
Finding your peace
In what situations, activities, hobbies or environments are you most at peace? How can you cultivate those situations more often into your calendar?
If you could design the perfect “peaceful day,” what would it include?
How do you recover your peace when you’ve lost it during a stressful day?
Quote of the day
"Nothing can bring you peace but yourself." – Ralph Waldo Emerson
The 'If you don’t have time’ Prompt
When was the last time you felt completely at peace? What were you doing?
Get the most out of your journalling:
Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.
Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.
Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.
I’d love your feedback
