Getting rid of limiting beliefs
Daily Journal Prompts - 4 December 2024
Slightly more than a year ago, I met an acquaintance who ran his own game publishing company.
I was in the process of producing a board game and wanted to seek advice from someone who is experienced in the field.
He fondly recalled his first game launch and the positive feedback they received.
He ended that part of the conversation with, “That was the best moment of my life.” After that, we sat in silence for a few moments.
I was hit with a profound sadness. That moment was over 10 years ago, and it felt like he believed his life would never hit another high again.
I’ve reflected a lot about that conversation — do I have any limiting beliefs holding me back?
And I discovered that I did — the biggest one was fear of failing. I have been working on side hustles for a long time without launching anything.
This year, I strove to change that. I focused on making my side hustles public.
I’m no longer afraid of putting myself out there. What a fun journey it has been!
Today’s Prompts
1 - Getting rid of limiting beliefs
List down one limiting belief you have for each of these areas of life: money & finances, health & fitness, relationships, personal development, work & career. What steps can you take to build evidence to overcome these beliefs? Are there others who have overcome them?
What’s a societal expectation you’ve internalised? How can you challenge it?
2 - Quote of the day
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't—you're right.” – Henry Ford
3 - The 'If you don’t have time’ Prompt
What is one thing you’re afraid to try? Why?
Get the most out of your journalling:
Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.
Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.
Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.
I’d love your feedback
