I have a secret

Daily Journal Prompts - 25 October 2024

I don’t journal everyday anymore.

I used to but for the last year or so, I’ve only journaled about 15 - 20 days in a month.

I tend to journal when I am stressed, have something on my mind, dealing with grief, or have to make an important decision.

I call myself a “War time” journaler.

Today, I have a lot of clarity about who I am, what type of person I want to be, and where I want to go, so I don’t find a need to journal as often during “Peace time”.

Here’s how I journal now:

  1. I pick a prompt. It’s usually something that’s been bothering me or stressing me out

  2. I just focus on that prompt until I am satisfied by my response. It sometimes takes days and that’s absolutely natural. You can’t expect all the answers to come to you in one 20 - 30 minute session. New ideas and thoughts will come the more you think about a topic, until you exhaust all possibilities.

  3. Once I’m satisfied, I put together an action plan to execute my decision.

Should you journal the same way? The honest answer is, I don’t know.

You should journal however you feel like. I know some subscribers who don’t even journal. They just use the prompts to think about the difficult questions in their life.

That’s absolutely perfect.

The prompts will be always be here. You use them however you want to gain maximum benefit. If that’s using one prompt a week, so be it. If that’s thinking about them, so be it. If it is everyday, so be it!

I’d love to hear more about how you use the prompts.
