If you magically received $10 million

Daily Journal Prompts - 22 November 2024

Imagine this scenario: If $10 million magically appeared in your bank account, how would you spend it?

Let’s assume you checked with the bank and authorities, and they said the money is yours to use as you wish.

How will you spend it?

I spend a lot of time thinking about questions like this.

Not out of greed but to be prepared.

There are enough stories about lottery winners who have the same or less money than before winning the lottery because they splurge.

I don’t want to end up like that.

You never know when a windfall will come. You could be left an inheritance. A stock or coin performs incredibly well. You get a large bonus at work.

When that happens, I want to use the money as productively as possible, benefiting my long-term quality of life.

Planning for unlikely scenarios isn’t just about readiness; it sharpens one's understanding of priorities and strengthens one's decision-making in all aspects of life.

Today’s Prompts

Self-reflection prompts

If $10 million magically appeared in your bank account, how would you spend it? How might sudden wealth create new challenges in your life? How would you address them?

What are some less likely scenarios for which it would be worth having a plan for in the event they come about?

The 'If you don’t have time’ Prompt

What can you do to make tomorrow a better day than today?

Get the most out of your journalling:

  • Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

  • Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

  • Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.

  • Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.

  • Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.

I’d love your feedback
