Stuck in a funk
Daily Journal Prompts - 26 March 2025
Lately, I’ve been feeling off. Not depressed, not exhausted—just off.
Like I’m coasting, going through the motions, doing what I need to but without the drive that usually fuels me.
I’ve been working at a co-working space and then heading home to watch sports or play video games.
Rinse and repeat. Nothing was wrong, but something was missing.
Then, this past weekend, I went to a boutique fair, which brought together fresh, new brands and ideas in one place.
And that’s when everything clicked — the moment I stepped into the fair, I felt different.
There was energy, movement, new ideas, and new faces.
Although I didn’t buy much, I left feeling reinvigorated.
I realised that my funk wasn’t caused by a lack of motivation or discipline—it was caused by my environment's staleness.
Sometimes, we don’t need a huge life change. We just need a shift—something new to look at, new people to meet, new experiences to absorb and recharge the batteries.
Today’s Prompts
1 - What patterns in my daily routine feel stale or uninspiring? Have I been feeling more tired, unmotivated, or disconnected lately? Why might that be? How can I break out of this feeling?
2 - When was the last time I felt truly energised by something? What was different then?
3 - If I had an entire day to explore something new, where would I go?
Get the most out of your journalling:
Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.
Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.
Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.
I’d love your feedback
