Suffer now or later?
Daily Journal Prompts - 8 February 2025
My wife and I are forever trying to find the balance between enjoying life now and saving for the future.
There’s one of my favourite quotes by Les Brown: "If you do what is easy, your life will be hard. If you do what is hard, your life will be easy."
But my wife and I are swayed by what happened to our friend’s father.
He lived very frugally, saving as much as he could and working as hard as he could.
He had grand plans for retirement, aiming to live his silver years exploring the world.
However, two days after retiring, he had a heart attack and passed away.
I don’t want that to happen to me.
At any point in time, if I pass away, I want to know that I have lived.
Everyone has their own balancing act and priorities to follow.
Today’s prompts help you think about this.

Get the most out of your journalling:
Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.
Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.
Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.
I’d love your feedback
