Trapped, but not stuck
Daily Journal Prompts - 8 April 2025
I’ve been homebound for nine days thanks to a calf tear, also known as Tennis Leg.
Crutches have become my new mode of transport, and sitting still has become my default setting.
The doctor said I’d be walking again in about two weeks.
There are still five days to go, and honestly?
I’m irritated. Restless. A bit negative.
My lack of movement has started to bleed into other areas of my life.
I procrastinate more than usual, second-guessing my business plans, feeling generally uninspired.
My mood dipped low enough for my wife to call me out: “You’ve been a bit of a depressing person to be around lately.”
That stung. But she wasn’t wrong.
So I sat with it. I journaled. I reflected. And I tried to reframe.
And realised that there are positives I can take away:
I save time on a 2-hour commute each day. That’s a win.
I’ve been reading more than I have in months.
The extra time has given me time to think and re-align my plan and improve my business.
And most importantly, it could have been much worse. I’m not bedridden. I’m healing.
The injury is still annoying, and the frustration hasn’t vanished. However, shifting my mindset gave me enough clarity to see beyond the short-term discomfort.
Today’s Prompts

2 - What’s one way you can reframe your perspective about something you view negatively into something positive?
I’d love your feedback
