Why do you journal
Daily Journal Prompts - 3 March 2025
Whenever I’m asked the question, my responses usually alternate between “to clear my head” or “to think carefully about a decision.”
Somehow, while accurate, I never felt satisfied with my answers.
Journaling has had such a big impact on my life that I felt I wasn’t properly explaining at a deeper level why it was important to me.
Until I read this tweet by @SayItValencia and instantly resonated with it:
“Journaling always shows me that deep down I know how to help me.”
That’s such a powerful message, and I fully agree with it.
Every entry in your journal is a snapshot of who you were in that moment.
Over time, those snapshots form a larger picture—one that shows your growth, your struggles, and your evolving perspective.
If you ever doubt your progress, just flip through past pages. You might be surprised by how far you’ve come.
So, today’s prompts are focused on reminding yourself why you picked up this habit.
Today’s Prompts
1 - How has your perspective on a challenge evolved through journaling? Can you pinpoint a specific entry where your thinking shifted?
2 - What themes or topics do you find yourself returning to in your journal? What does this reveal about your current priorities or struggles?
3 - If someone asked you why they should start journaling, what would you say?
4 - Have you ever hesitated to write something down or confront it because it felt too raw or vulnerable? What does that tell you about your inner world?
Get the most out of your journalling:
Choose one prompt: Focus on just one prompt each day to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Be brutally honest: Reflect openly and honestly. This is your safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Take your time: Sometimes it takes a few days to clarify your thinking. Here’s permission for you to take your time to unravel a prompt and not take on any new ones during that time.
Journal your way: Whether you prefer writing, audio recording, or video, choose the method that suits you best.
Don't stress about streaks: If you miss a day, don't worry. You can always revisit a previous prompt.
I’d love your feedback
